Kinns Road Park is about 64 acres owned and maintained by the Town of Clifton Park, with another 32 acres of adjoining lands owned by the Town of Clifton Park that have been acquired through the creation of park land in subdivisions and from Saratoga P.L.A.N. The park is centrally located off of Kinns Road, immediately east of Nottingham Way North, and just west of Carlton Road. The town park offers beautiful wooded trails — many of which connect to the adjoining neighborhoods — used year-round by walkers, hikers and orienteers. During the winter, some of the trails are groomed for cross-country skiing. This is a dog-friendly park, but all dogs must have a current dog permit obtained from the Town of Clifton Park Town Clerk. A stream is located south of the park on the trail that leads to Sherwood Forest. The original 64 acres comprised a forest plantation owned by Saratoga County as a county forest, prior to being conveyed in 2017 to the Town of Clifton Park.
Nature Trail Videos
Below please find a collection of recent videos for visitors to screen and experience 14 trails at Kinns Road Park, during Spring and also during the Fall. These videos were filmed by Alison Szczesny, to create increased public access to Kinns Road Park, for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project.
“Over the course of a year, I decided to walk and document each of 14 trails in Kinns Road Park. I recorded my hikes in the hopes of creating an online library of videos that would highlight the beauty of the park. I hiked each trail in both the mid fall and late spring. Over the course of the summer of 2021, I took the raw videos and smoothed them over, carefully editing them in ways that would highlight their natural wonder. Then, I worked with the Town of Clifton Park to add these virtual hikes to a new page off the Town’s website. I hope that my Girl Scout Gold Award Project makes this beautiful forest park accessible to all.”
