Saratoga County Department of Public Health has issued the following advisory for businesses and residents in Saratoga County. The purpose of this advisory is to encourage social distancing to combat the presence of COVID-19 within our communities.
“All residents should practice social distancing as it has proven to reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 virus from one person to another,” said Catherine Duncan, Director of Saratoga County Department of Public Health. “Limiting exposure will prevent a spike in cases that would potentially exceed the healthcare systems capacity to treat patients with or without COVID-19.”
Social distancing includes limiting capacity at public and private gathering spaces, expanding the physical distance between peoples to 6 to 10 feet, avoiding shaking hands or exchanging greeting gestures, hold meetings via video or telephone conference when possible.

There is one more confirmed case of COVID-19 in Saratoga County, an adult Clifton Park resident. The total number of confirmed cases is four. The Department of Public Health is currently investigating this case.

Earlier this morning the Town of Clifton Park was notified that an adult resident had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus. Supervisor Barrett has been in contact with the members of the Town Public Health Committee with information on the situation. We are working with county and state health officials to monitor the situation. Please continue to follow all protocols and recommendations of the CDC. The Committee will continue to post updates on this site as information becomes available.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in 60 locations internationally, including in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).
